The article reviews some of the key issues connected with the relationships between participants in a navigation adventure and their regulation in English navigation law. The author analyses the most important institutes in maritime and inland navigation law, beginning from the ship, which has the central role in navigation law and which is accepted as a responsible economit unit. Economic independence of the ship and personification of the ship allow actions to be brought against the ship in order to achieve better protection for persons who suffer damage caused by ship. In addition, the author emphasizes on liability of carrier (shipowner or ship operator), general average, hypothec and mortgage, salvage and insurance. The author also concludes that it is important to unify maritime law and inland navigation law in order to achieve a high level of legal security for all participants in a navigation adventure.U radu se daje prikaz nekih ključnih pitanja u vezi sa odnosima koji nastaju između učesnika jednog plovidbenog poduhvata i obrađuje njihovo regulisanje u engleskom plovidbenom pravu. Autor analizira najvažnije institute u pomorskom pravu i pravu unutrašnje plovidbe, počevši od broda, koji ima centralno mesto u plovidbenom pravu i koji se posmatra kao odgovorna ekonomska jedinica, zbog čega dolazi do njegove personifikacije. Personifikacija broda i njegova ekonomska samostalnost omogućavaju oštećenim licima da svoja prava ostvaruju neposredno protiv broda i da na taj način obezbede bolju pravnu zaštitu svojih interesa. Autor zatim ukazuje na odgovornost brodara, zajedničku havariju, spasavanje na moru, hipoteku na brodu i osiguranje. Autor istovremeno zaključuje da je potrebno unifikovati pomorsko pravo i pravo unutrašnje plovidbe kako bi se dostigao visok stepen pravne sigurnosti za sve učesnike u plovidbenom poduhvatu
