The central cord syndrome is the most common type of the incomplete traumatic cervical cord syndromes. First described by Schneider in 1954, it is characterized by disproportionately greater motor impairment in the upper than in the lower extremities, bladder dysfunction, and varying degrees of sensory loss below the level of lesion. It has generally good prognosis for neurological and functional recovery. In this Article, a 64-year-old male patient, diagnosed as central cord syndrome because of spinal cord injury is presented and discussed in the light of the relevant literature.Santral kord sendromu; inkomplet travmatik servikal kord sendromlarının en sık görülenidir. İlk kez 1954 yılında Schneider tarafından tanımlanmış olup; üst ekstremitede alt ekstremiteye göre daha belirgin motor bozukluk, mesane disfonksiyonu ve lezyon seviyesi altında değişken derecede duyu kayıpları ile karakterizedir. Genellikle nörolojik ve fonksiyonel iyileşme açısından prognozu iyidir. Bu yazıda spinal kord yaralanmasına bağlı santral kord sendromu gelişen 64 yaşındaki erkek hasta sunulmuş ve literatür ışığında tartışılmıştır
