The Australian Medical Council (AMC) sets the accreditation standards for Australian Medical Schools. The eight standards for medical programs are: the context, the outcomes, the medical curriculum, learning and teaching, the curriculum, assessment of student learning, the curriculum-monitoring, implementing the curriculum-students and implementation of the curriculum-learning environment (AMC, 2022). Monitoring and reviewing of the curriculum are explained under Standard 6, which specifies that the medical program should be frequently monitored and reviewed (curriculum content, quality of teaching and supervision, assessment, and student progress decisions), the outcomes should be evaluated, and the results of outcome evaluation be reported to the stakeholders and feedback for improvement should be actively sought (AMC, 2022)
