Abstract
Traditional ecological knowledge - TEK, which is passed orally through generations, is at risk of lost because young people are not interested and the holders of knowledge are dying. The purpose is to map the profile and analyze the academic and scientific research on traditional ecological knowledge, through quantitative empirical perspective. The bibliometrics was responsible for providing a quantitative evaluation of the topic and the integrative review for qualitative, taking the database Web of Science. Brazil's position is remarkable, have two institutions in ten, that most published on the subject, and is the third with most published works. It was observed between the articles, methodological problems, especially in the sample but also on the definition of the variables. This work starts a discussion on the importance of Brazil in publications about TEK, suggesting other databases to analyze, and points out the potential of knowledge management for mitigation of the loss risk of TEK.O conhecimento ecológico tradicional - CET, que é passado oralmente através de gerações, corre riscos de se perder, pois os jovens não estão interessados, os detentores do conhecimento estão falecendo. Objetiva-se, então, mapear o perfil e analisar as pesquisas acadêmico-cientificas sobre conhecimento ecológico tradicional, pela perspectiva empírica quantitativa. A bibliometria foi a responsável por fornecer a avaliação quantitativa do tema e a revisão integrativa a qualitativa, tomando-se a base de dados Web Of Science. A posição do Brasil é notável, possuindo duas instituições, das dez, que mais publicaram sobre o tema, além de ser o terceiro com mais trabalhos publicados. Observou-se entre os artigos, problemas metodológicos, principalmente na parte de amostragem, mas também na definição das variáveis. Assim, este trabalho inicia a discussão sobre a importância do Brasil nas publicações sobre CET, sugerindo que outras bases de dados sejam analisadas, e aponta do potencial da gestão do conhecimento como mitigador dos riscos de perda do CET
