Malignant bone and soft tissue tumors are rare diseases that commonly require complex reconstruction following wide resection. The reconstruction may be biologic or non-biologic (endoprosthetic). Each has its own advantages and disadvantages and has some common and unique complications. Implant failure, loosening, and infection are the major complications in the endoprosthetic reconstructions group.
