The purpose of this research is to improve the learning outcomes of class VIII-2 students at
MTS Al Jihad Medan in the Reading and Writing Al-Qur'an Subject. This type of research was
classroom action research which was carried out in two cycles, cycle I carried out 2 meetings and cycle
II carried out 1 meeting. Each meeting consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages.The subjects in this study were all students of class VIII-2 at MTS Al-Jihad Medan, totaling 43 students
with 22 male students and 21 female students. The data obtained in this study included: learning
outcomes and student learning completeness taken from giving test questions at the end of each
meeting and students' activeness in the learning process taking place. From the research data, it was
obtained that the average student learning outcomes in cycle I was 78.57 and cycle II was 95.00. The
average learning completeness in the first cycle was 74.29% and 100% in the second cycle. From these
data it is clear that from cycle I to cycle II there was a significant increase. From this study it was
concluded that using the jigsaw type cooperative learning model with video-based interactive media
could improve student learning outcomes in class VIII-2 at MTS Al-Jihad Medan in the Reading and
Writing Al-Qur'an Subject
