Where are you from/where did you attend undergrad?A. I am from Chicago and attended Northwestern University for undergrad.Q. What are you looking forward to doing this summer?A. I am looking forward to being back in Chicago with my family and friends!Q. It's your last dinner in South Bend for 3 months... where are you headed?!A. Definitely Rohr's. I spend far too much money there and it is too convenient.Q. Favorite 1L memory?A. Father Mike was absolutely one of my favorite nights this year. I loved being able toperform in a band with my incredibly talented friends who all happen to know how to playinstruments (so so well). Q. What was your favorite course you took this year?A. Torts with Professor Tidmarsh. He truly made class so interesting and enjoyable.Q. You just finished finals! What are you going to do first?A. Probably go to Rohr's. It is truly too convenient.Q. Anything you’d like to say to your fans? A. I owe my fans sooo much for their love and support. Grateful for their presence!JACKIE'S CORNER:I thought this one would be big and profound and planned out and sent in early. But it justisn't. I think I'm just tired, you guys. I think I'm burnt out. But I know I'm not the only one. In fact, I think we all are.Look back at yourselves a year ago. Notice how different you are. In what ways have youchanged? In what ways do you hope to change? We are all about to embark on freedoms we are all ready to have. For the 3Ls...it's thefreedom of not being students anymore. It's the freedom of having a career, whatever thatis. For my class, it's the freedom of knowing it's almost done, and there's not much else tofight over. For the 1Ls, it'll be attending classes you chose. Whatever it is that you do, don't forget to enjoy this summer as much as you can. For the1Ls, it's your time to really explore what there is to do as a law student for the first time.For the 2Ls, it's our last summer vacation pretty much ever. Connect with your friends. I know I don't think the same as I did before law school. I likely never will. But I hope thatsome of the bad habits I've made--all the excuses I've given...I hope that will die here. I hope this summer, you find yourselves. Figure out what it is you wanted. Figure outwhere it is you want to be. Dive into having clients. And cookouts. And take the time to enjoy the weekends.I know some of you might think you'll spend this summer cramming for your year comingup, learning things to get ahead- but I assure you. Your brain needs a break from lawschool so it can survive next year. Maybe this will be my last post, maybe it won't. Whatever it is...I hope this year, if you'veread this corner, you take a moment to explore who you are. What this whole thing is. Andhow you could be a better person. And I hope that even if you spent just ten minutes a week doing it, you do it all summerlong. It'll be more beneficial to you when this whole thing is over than anything else.Get sleep tonight. And tomorrow night. And survive this final push. It'll be over before youknow it. Congrats to the class of 2023. I wish you all the best.To the class of 2025, hang in there. You're closer than you've ever been.Take care of yourselves, and each other.
