The article undertakes the analysis of Augustine's homilies, in which he explains the event of the appearance of the Risen Christ to the disciples in the Cenacle. The preacher of Hippo used them pastorally, emphasizing the behavior of Jesus confirming the reality of His resurrected body. The pastoral effort was therefore focused on polemics with some heresies, on the one hand, and on presenting the correct teaching on the divinity and humanity of Christ, on the other hand. In addition, the preacher used a biblical pericope to indicate the importance of the Church community and to clarify some concerns related to the belief in the resurrection of the dead.Artykuł podejmuje analizę homilii Augustyna, w których kaznodzieja objaśnia wydarzenie ukazania się Zmartwychwstałego uczniom w Wieczerniku.
