[ES] Desde los inicios de la Unión Europea, los derechos sociales no han ocupado un
lugar destacado en sus actuaciones, ya que el objetivo principal de esta, en su
nacimiento, era la creación de un mercado único, teniendo una naturaleza
fundamentalmente económica. Pero, el paso del tiempo ha conseguido avances y
los derechos sociales han adquirido un papel importante. No obstante, es notoria,
la necesidad de abordar los importantes desafíos que aún existen en la protección
y promoción de estos derechos. En este sentido, trataremos de analizar el marco
jurídico de los derechos sociales en la Unión europea a través de los diferentes
textos normativos que han ido integrándose a lo largo de los años en su
ordenamiento jurídico, y así apreciar como los derechos sociales se han

prominent place in its actions, since its main objective, at its start, was the creation
of a single market, having basically an economic nature. But, as time goes by,
progress and social rights have acquired an important role. However, the need to
address the important challenges that still exist in the protection and promotion of
these rights. On this point, we will try to analyze the legal framework of social
rights in the European Union through the different normative texts that have been
integrated over the years into its legal system, and this way appreciate how social
rights have been related with the primacy of the economic aspect
