System of SystemsTo make urban air mobility a reality,vehicles, infrastructure, services, andoperations must be developed jointly andsimultaneously. The interrelationships andinteractions of several involved systems orstakeholders require a holistic andsystematic approach, which is consideredand implemented in the system of systemssimulation framework. Thereby, the designand assessment of vehicles and fleets arethe focus of the concept studies.Objectives:• Studies on conceptual vehicle designand fleet operations• Consideration of different use cases,technologies, and scenariosSystem of systems simulation framework for urban air mobility aircraft architecture design and fleet assessment by combiningconceptual aircraft design with agent-based simulation. Collaborative Vehicle DesignThe workflow is initiated by the top level aircraft requirements derived from theHorizonUAM use cases. Through collaboration, iterative design loops are computedbetween aircraft architecture, onboard systems and cabin concepts. The aircraftperformance is then used as input to the aircraft agent model in the fleet simulations.4. Agent-Based SimulationThis agent-based simulation is powered by an in-house modeling and simulationtoolkit.
