Angular velocity measurement using dedicated quadrature encoder interface

Abstract

Przedstawiono metodę pomiaru prędkości kątowej z użyciem enkodera kwadraturowego i procesora sygnałowego TMS320F28335 wyposażonego w interfejs enkoderowy eQEP. Omówiono budowę i zasadę działania optoelektronicznego enkodera kwadraturowego. Opisano dwie podstawowe metody enkoderowego pomiaru prędkości kątowej, wskazano ich ograniczenia. Zaproponowano połączenie podstawowych metod, uzyskując metodę łączoną odznaczającą się dużą dokładnością w szerokim zakresie prędkości kątowych. Omówiono moduł enkoderowy eQEP. Przedstawiono sposób doboru parametrów metody uwzględniający ograniczenia procesora oraz rozdzielczość zastosowanego enkodera. Przedstawiono sposób oprogramowania metody w procesorze.The paper describes angular velocity measurement method using quadrature encoder and TMS320F28335 processor equipped with eQEP interface. Optoelectronic quadrature encoder principle of operation is reminded. Two basic methods of angular velocity measurement are discussed and their limitations are emphasized. Mixed angular velocity measurement method is proposed to achieve good measurement accuracy in wide speed range. The eQEP interface is presented. The equations and guide for parameter calculation which takes into consideration processor limitations and encoder resolution are included. Implementation of the method in the processor is discussed
