The objective of this project is to examine electricity use in newly-electrified, poor urban settlements in the Western Cape, by monitoring and analysing household energy-consumption data and relevant socio-economic information. An important aim is to understand factors which affect the movement from multiple fuel use to greater electricity consumption.
