NILAI-NILAI MORAL DAN KEPEDULIAN PADA PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DI SD ISLAM AL AZHAR 34 MAKASSAR

Abstract

Character education is an essential part of the education process at SD Islam Al Azhar 34 Makassar. One of the main aspects emphasized in character education at this school is moral values and social responsibility. The research is qualitative in nature, employing a phenomenological approach. The sample selection process, involving recommendations from teachers and classmates, ensured variations in individual characteristics and diversity in the expressed moral values. Data collection through in-depth interviews and participatory observations has provided a profound understanding of how students internalize and apply these values. The research findings depict how students interact with classmates, teachers, and school staff, prioritizing values such as honesty, tolerance, compassion, cooperation, and concern for the environment and others. Additionally, students demonstrate the ability to maintain environmental cleanliness, participate in social activities outside of school, and responsibly manage technology use. This research offers valuable insights for the development of character education at SD Islam Al Azhar 34 Makassar and can serve as a reference for further efforts in implementing moral values and concern in education. The conclusion indicates that character education at SD Islam Al Azhar 34 Makassar has successfully created an environment conducive to the moral development of students. These findings affirm the importance of character education in shaping individuals with moral integrity and a sense of responsibility towards the environment and others.
