EFEKTIVITAS MEDIA KOMIK STRIP DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENULIS KARANGAN NARATIF BAHASA JERMAN SISWA KELAS XI IBB DI SMA NEGERI 2 SIDOARJO

Abstract

In learning German, writing skills are one of the most important language skills that need to bemaximized. Based on observations that have been made, most of the students of class XI IBB in SMANegeri 2 Sidoarjo have difficulty writing German, especially writing narrative essays. For this reason,comic strip can be used as an alternative to overcome these problems. The purpose of this research wasto determine whether the comic strip media effectively contribute to improving the ability to write anarrative essay by students of class XI IBB SMA Negeri 2 Sidoarjo. The method used in this research isa quasi-experimental method with one group pretest-postest design. The subject of this research are 34students of class XI IBB at SMA Negeri 2 Sidoarjo for the academic year 2022/2023. The instrumentsused in this research are lesson plan, written test and questionnaire in Likert scale. Based on the resultsof the data analysis, it can be seen that comic strip is effectively used to improve the ability to writenarrative essays by students of class XI IBB SMA Negeri 2 Sidoarjo, characterized by the acquisitionof an average N-gain score of 38.04% or medium efficiency, and reinforced by the results of the T-test,which shows the value of tcount> ttable (9,690> 1,692) at a significance level of 5%, which means that thenull hypothesis (H0) is rejected and H1 is accepted. While the results of the questionnaire gave apercentage of 77.9% or very good criteria. Both from the aspects of motivation and effectiveness,students respond positively to learning to write narrative essays using comic strip. Based on theresearch results, it can be concluded that the learning media comic strip can be used as an effectivealternative medium to improve the ability of students to write narrative essays in SMA
