Early onset of alcohol use contributes to thedevelopment of drinking outcomes, alcohol abuse and dependence. Heavydrinking is strongly influenced by family factors, friends’ influences and individualfactors such as knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and skills.OBJECTIVESThe purpose of this study is toinvestigate risk factors for adolescentlifetime drunkenness and to evaluatedifferences by gender and socio-economic status.METHODSThis is a secondary analysis of the baseline survey of the EU-Dap (European Drug Addition Prevention) trial. The analyticalsample included 12-14 years old students from seven European countries who participated in the baseline survey andanswered the questions investigating drunkenness episodes.
