Wizja monarchii i porządku społecznego w teologii politycznej św. Augustyna z Hippony

Abstract

The text deals with the main themes of St. Augustine important from the perspective of theidea of monarchism. The most important thread taken up in the text is based on the noveltythat Christian philosophy brought to thinking about the role of monarchy in the political community. This new dimension can be called soteriological, which means based on the category ofsalvation that complements the classic category of the common good. The role of the monarchin the Christian paradigm is therefore not only to strive for the good of the community, but alsofor the salvation of its members. Discussion of the thoughts of St. Augustine in the monarchistcontext is important because he begins a new discourse of Christian political philosophy, whichwill be developed throughout the entire Middle Ages
