Nature of South America, including Peru, is a real natural pharmacy; it is believed that over 80% of plants growing here have medicinal properties. Region of the Andes and the Amazon basin are exceptionally interesting to pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions worldwide. A few plants from this region, such as: Cat’s claw (Uncaria tomentosa), Maca (Lepidium meyenii) and Dragon’s blood (Croton lechleri) have already gained a reputation in Europe. Every one of them has a long tradition of use by Indians in South America. However, the popularization of these plants as pharmaceutical raw materials or products complementing the diet of European citizens requires phytochemical, biological and pharmacological studies.Przyroda Ameryki Południowej, w tym Peru, to prawdziwa naturalna apteka; uważa się, że ponad 80% rosnących tu roślin ma właściwości lecznicze.
