Kashubian education differs from traditionally understood and implemented regional education, although many teachers still carry out teaching of the Ka-shubian language and culture in the approach typical of regional education. In the Kashubian case it is primarily a shift to the area of folk culture, and uncritical building of the belief that if we deal with the Kashubian culture, it must be accompanied by stage folk costumes, dances and songs.However, the Kashubians – especially young ones – in spite of such tendencies, more often begin to articulate their cultural needs (including linguistic ones) as part of everyday life, including the needs related to creative activity. Therefore, it forces changes in the Kashubian education system itself.This article is a review of the current state of Kashubian education in important areas, such as the theory and school implementation (which translates into the number of students or the availability of student’s books). It is pedagogical reflection on the issues of Kashubian language and culture education and underlying Kashubian identity policy.Edukacja kaszubska różni się od tradycyjnie pojmowanej i realizowanej edukacji regionalnej, choć wielu nauczycieli nadal realizuje nauczanie języka i kultury kaszubskiej w podejściu typowym dla edukacji regionalnej. W przypadku kaszubskim jest to przede wszystkim przesunięcie w obszar kultury ludowej i niekrytyczne budowanie przeświadczenia, że jeśli mamy do czynienia z kaszubszczyzną to muszą temu towarzyszyć estradowe stroje ludowe, tańce i przyśpiewki. Jednak Kaszubi – zwłaszcza młodzi – jakby na przekór takim tendencjom, zaczynają częściej artykułować swoje potrzeby kulturowe (w tym językowe) jako element codzienności, w tym także potrzeby związananej z aktywnością twórczą. Wymusza to zatem zmiany w samym systemie edukacji kaszubskiej. Niniejszy artykuł jest przeglądem aktualnego stanu edukacji kaszubskiej w obszarach dla niej ważnych, jak teoria i szkolna realizacja (co przekłada się na liczbę uczniów czy dostępność podręczników). Jest to pedagogiczna refleksja na temat edukacji języka i kultury kaszubskiej oraz leżącej u podstaw kaszubskiej polityki tożsamości
