Os Epigramas de Manoela Nogueira e a memória da catástrofe

Abstract

The purpose of this text is to analyze the project entitled Epigramas, by Manoela Nogueira, in which the visual artist produces writings in places of remembrance in the city of Porto Alegre, seeking to remind passers-by of the connection between that place and the Civil-Military Dictatorship (1964-1985). To produce this analysis, we started with the historic relationship between catastrophe and memory in order to examine two fundamental axes of trauma elaboration: writing and image. As such, we sought to identify how this type of artistic intervention can re-elaborate the past and create a critical view of history.Este texto tem como intuito analisar o projeto Epigramas, de Manoela Nogueira, no qual a artista plástica produz inscrições em espaços de recordação da cidade de Porto Alegre, buscando relembrar aos transeuntes a ligação daquele local com a Ditadura Civil-Militar (1964-1985). Para produzir a análise, partimos da relação histórica entre catástrofe e memória para examinar dois eixos fundamentais de elaboração do trauma: a escrita e a imagem.
