Peru ‘Guerrero’ (2016): filmic representation of an aspirational image

Abstract

El cine es un medio para contar historias que utilizan segmentos de la realidad para que sean representados en la historia y lograr una identificación más cercana con el público. Estas historias pueden potenciar las aspiraciones que tienen los espectadores, deseando ellos lograr los éxitos que se encuentran visualizando. La sociedad peruana considera al fútbol uno de sus motivos de unión y, en el 2016, se estrenó la película “Guerrero”, narrando parte de la vida del futbolista Paolo Guerrero, considerado una de las figuras más influyentes del país. Así, el objetivo de esta investigación es identificar la manera en que la narrativa audiovisual contribuye a la representación de la imagen aspiracional del personaje de Paolo Guerrero en la película “Guerrero” (2016). Investigando sobre qué es la narrativa audiovisual y la imagen aspiracional en el Perú, además de aplicar tres instrumentos de análisis y dos entrevistas, se llegó a la conclusión que la narrativa audiovisual contribuye favorablemente en la construcción del personaje de Paolo Guerrero como una imagen aspiracional.Movies uses segments of reality to achieve a closer identification with the audience. These stories can contribute to create an aspiration in the viewers, wishing them to achieve the successes they are visualizing. Peruvian society considers soccer one of its reasons for union and in 2016 the movie "Guerrero" was released. This film narrates part of the life of soccer player Paolo Guerrero, considered one of the most influential figures in the country. Thus, the objective of this research is to identify how the audiovisual narrative contributes to the representation of the aspirational image of Paolo Guerrero's character in the movie "Guerrero" (2016). Researching on what is the audiovisual narrative and the aspirational image is in Peru, in addition to applying three instruments of analysis and two interviews, it was concluded that the audiovisual narrative contributes favorably in the construction of the character of Paolo Guerrero as an aspirational image.Tesi
