Distance education metaphorical perceptions of school managers, teachers and students in the Covid-19 pandemic

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, okul içi paydaşların (okul yöneticileri, öğretmen ve öğrenciler) metafor analizi ile uzaktan eğitime yönelik algılarının ve yaşam doyumlarının incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırmada, yaşları 14 ile 62 arasında değişen 105 (%39.5)’i erkek, 161 (%60.5)’i kadın toplam 266 katılımcı yer almaktadır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan kişisel bilgi formu, metafor formu ve yaşam doyum ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen nitel bulgulara göre, 266 kişiden toplam 232 metafor elde edilmiştir. Uzaktan eğitim sürecine ilişkin metaforlar “verimsizlik” “etkileşimsizlik”, “yapay olma”, “eksiklik”, “eşitsizlik”, “değişkenlik”, “yoksunluk”, “altyapı durumu”, “farkındalık”, “fırsat”, “tamamlayıcılık”, “koruyuculuk”, “gelişim” olmak üzere 13 kategori altında toplanmaktadır. Bu bulgular ışığında uzaktan eğitim sürecine dair öneriler sunulmaktadır.In this study, it is aimed to examine the perceptions and life satisfaction of stakeholders (school administrators, teachers and students) towards distance education with metaphor analysis. In the research, there are a total of 266 participants, 105 (39.5%) male, 161 (60.5%) female, aged between 14 and 62. In the study, personal information form and metaphor form prepared by the researchers were used as data collection tools. According to the qualitative findings obtained as a result of the research, a total of 232 metaphors were obtained from 266 participants. Then, all metaphors were handled together and divided into 13 categories. Here are the categories related to metaphors; "inefficiency", "non-interactivity", "artificiality", "deficiency", "inequality", "variability", "deficiency", "situation of infrastructure", "awareness", "opportunity", "complementarity", "protection", " development ”. In the light of these findings, suggestions about the distance education process are presented
