La plaine du Chambon : approches archéologiques d’une entité territoriale cohérente

International audienceThe Olivoux is located in Montignac, in the east part of the Dordogne departement (Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France). Since 2005, it is concerned by rescue archaeology. In 2015, a research program began to in-depth the problematics that gradually emerged, first of all, regarding the field itself, and then, in second time, stretched to the entire territorial entity in which the Olivoux are inscribed in, the plain of Chambon, allowing to examine the land settlements and their evolution until the Middle Ages. This article aims to present the methods used and the results to which they led.Le site des Olivoux est localisé à Montignac, dans la partie orientale du département de la Dordogne. Il fait depuis 2005 l’objet d’opérations archéologiques préventives, réalisées au rythme de la construction de pavillons individuels. Depuis 2015, un programme de recherches s’est employé, dans un premier temps, à résoudre l’interrogation concernant sa nature, avant d’opérer un changement d’échelle visant à considérer les Olivoux à l’intérieur de l’entité territoriale cohérente dans laquelle elle est inscrite, la plaine du Chambon, dans la perspective d’en observer l’occupation du sol et son évolution jusqu’au Moyen Âge.
