Abstract
dawki.
gleby. The long-term study was conducted on experimental objects, located on the black degraded soil under varied fertilization
and soil moisture conditions. The aim of study was to assess the impact of divere fertilization of permanent meadow and soil
moisture on the potassium balance. The experimental field consisted of four objects with mineral fertilization applied in
amounts: 60, 120, 180 and 240 kg N·ha-1, and two objects with natural-mineral fertilization: G1-180 and G2-240 kg N·ha-1
applied with liquid manure that covered the needs of potassium. The nitrogen and phosphorus were supplemented to given
dose. In autumn of the years 2008 and 2011 the soil samples from layers 0-10 and 10-20 cm were taken in order to determine
the abundance of potassium. Three-cut utilization of meadow was carried out. The yielding and potassium content in
herbage was evaluated in order to calculate its balance. Potassium balance in all examined objects, regardless of the level
of soil moisture was negative. However, after three years of study a significant increase of potassium content in both soil
layers was shown. Effect of irrigation on the abundance of potassium was dependent on the level of fertilization. On the object
N-60 the irrigation resulted in a marked reduction in the abundance of the potassium in both layers of the soil. On the
other objects N-120, N-180, N-240, G1 and G2 irrigation resulted in a significant increase in the content of potassium in
both layers of soil
