El «juicio por el clima»: El litigio climático español

Abstract

En un contexto de emergencia climática, surgen por todo el globo litigios climáticos como reacción frente a la insuficiente acción política al respecto. En España, la sociedad civil organizada ha planteado dos Juicios por el Clima ante el Tribunal Supremo, con la pretensión de que se establezcan objetivos de reducción de gases de efecto invernadero muy superiores a los previstos por los instrumentos de planificación y aprobados por el Gobierno de la Nación, acordes con los compromisos internacionales asumidos con la ratificación del Acuerdo de París y las recomendaciones científicas del IPCC, para no superar 1,5 ºC de incremento de la temperatura global a final de siglo y con el deber de garantía de los derechos humanos y del medio ambiente adecuadoIn a context of climate emergency, climate litigation is emerging around the globe as a reaction to insufficient political action.
