Introducción: Las lesiones del ligamento periodontal son una patología frecuente en el
manejo del paciente infantil. Objetivos: Evaluar el nivel de conocimiento y aptitud
referente a los conceptos básicos sobre lesiones del ligamento periodontal que poseen
estudiantes y profesionales de la salud bucodental, incluyendo alumnos de último curso
del grado de Odontología y odontólogos que cursan másters. Material y método: La
muestra estuvo conformada por 99 estudiantes. Se utilizó como instrumento una
encuesta, previamente validada por expertos. Se usó el programa estadístico SSPS para
analizar los datos obtenidos. Resultados: el nivel de conocimiento y aptitud de los
encuestados en relación a las lesiones del ligamento periodontal es, en general, medio.
Conclusión: los conocimientos adquiridos resultan insuficientes, sería recomendable
reforzarlos y capacitar a los profesionales buco-sanitarios para un adecuado manejo de
las lesiones traumáticas del ligamento periodontal.Introduction: Periodontal ligament injuries are a frequent pathology in the handling of

basic concepts about injuries of the periodontal ligament that students and professionals
