A variety of devotional literature has emerged in Tamil literature. Among them, the Thirumantram book composed by Thirumoolar is the tenth of the twelve Thirumurai. Thirumoolar is considered as one of the most important of the eighteen Siddhars and he is a pioneer in Siddha literature. Thirumoolar was the first person to expound the Yoga Norm in Tamil.
