The article discusses the reflexes of Common Slavic consonants and phoneme sequences in the local dialect of Novo Mesto, which are shifting the dialect in the direction of the spoken standard. It also provides a comparison between the local dialects of the surrounding localities, which are part of the network of research points for Slovenski lingvistični atlas (Slovenian Linguistic Atlas), and an old transcription of the Novo Mesto dialect.Prispevek obravnava odraze soglasnikov in glasovnih skupin v novomeškem govoru, ki govor približujejo glasovnemu sestavu knjižnega jezika.
