Gripopteryx garbei is widely distributed, from Bahia (Camacan) to southern Brazil (Lecci & Froehlich, 2011). In Rio de Janeiro, this species can be found in Itatiaia, Rio de Janeiro (Maciço da Tijuca), Teresópolis, and Nova Friburgo (Nessimian et al. 2009). The only male adult examined agrees well with the description of Froehlich (1990). Distribution. Brazil. Minas Gerais, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro.
