Title: “3D and Augmented Reality (AR) Learning Modules for Ancient Civilization Represented Visually in Rock-cut Buddhist Caves in Yungang, China.”  Expected Outcome:   A prototype of  a virtual 3D and AR interactive learning tool for the selected Yungang Cave in Shanxi Province, China;  A comprehensive compilation and recording of related historical background information and events in English and Chinese;   A researched and well-documented digital archive for the selected Yungang Cave in Shanxi Province, art and history;   A 3D/AR digital exhibit of the selected Yungang Buddhist art at both FIU and Miami Dade Campuses Evaluation Metrics Objectives  Metrics How is it measured When Develop a prototype 3D and AR learning tool for the selected Yungang Cave 1) Point cloud 3D model of selected Buddha statues;  2) AR production with multi-media content for up to two large wall mural paintings of Yungang caves  Number of 3D scans and images of mural paintings;   Tracking user statistics online One year from project starting date, estimated August 2020 Research and compilation of existing Yungang related materials  1) Gather narratives, pictures, and/or videos from public domain;  2) Translation of researched materials from Chinese to English Number of  researched and compiled items or objects embedded within the AR learning tool;  Tracking number of hits to these objects online 6 months from project starting date, estimated February 2020 Public engagement and promotion of the tools to students and community Two physical exhibits at both FIU and MDC campuses Number of attendees to the events One year from project starting date, estimated August 2020 Curriculum Development  Inclusion and introduction of the AR web/mobile learning tools in two of Dr. Lidu Yi’s current courses offered at FIU Number of students who used the learning tools;  Feedback from the students  Continuous beyond project funding period
