Abstract

Wstęp. Zespół Rasmussena to bardzo rzadki typ przewlekłego ogniskowego zapalenia mózgu o niewyjaśnionej etiologii rozpoczynający się zwykle między 2 a 10 rokiem życia. Charakteryzuje się lekooporną padaczką, postępującym niedowładem połowiczym i stopniową regresją funkcji poznawczych, wymaga złożonego postępowania leczniczego. Cel pracy. Celem pracy jest przedstawienie założeń, trudności i efektów rehabilitacji w zespole Rasmussena Materiał i metoda. Opis przypadku trzynastoletniej pacjentki z zespołem Rasmussena Wyniki i wnioski. Rehabilitacja w zespole Rasmussena jest utrudniona przez licznie występujące napady drgawek, zaburzenia w komunikacji i współpracy wywołane narastającym upośledzeniem umysłowym. Mimo to możliwe jest osiągnięcie poprawy w zakresie lokomocji i samoobsługi pacjenta.Introduction: Rasmussen encephalitis is a very rare chronic inflammatory disease of unknown etiology beginning usually in children between 2 and 10 years old. It causes intractable, extremely difficult to medication epileptic seizures, progressive hemiparesis and gradual mental deterioration and requires multifocal treatment. Aim of the study: The aim of the study is to present the assumptions, difficulties and results of rehabilitation in Rasmussen encephalitis. Material and method: The case description of 13-year-old girl with Rasmussen encephalitis Results and conclusions: Rehabilitation in Rasmussen encephalitis is difficult because of intractable epileptic seizures, problems in communication and cooperation caused by progressive mental retardation. Despite this it is possible to gain improvement of patient’s mobility and self service
