Technical status of the balcony elements in the ‘great panel’ buildings

Abstract

Budownictwo wielkopłytowe, rozwinięte w latach 60. XX wieku, stanowiło w Polsce aż do połowy lat 80, podstawową formę budownictwa mieszkaniowego. Największy jego rozwój przypada na lata 70., kiedy powstawało najwięcej obiektów wznoszonych w systemach uprzemysłowionych w ramach dużych osiedli mieszkaniowych. Jakość wykonania elementów przygotowywanych w zakładach prefabrykacji, a zwłaszcza jakość montażu gotowych prefabrykatów na placu budowy pozostawiała wiele do życzenia.‘Great panel’ buildings (also known as the ‘Panelak’ buildings), developed back in the 1960’s became the basic form of housing structures until the mid-1980’s in Poland. These buildings were developed to the largest extent back in the 1970’s, when most of the structures were erected in an industrialized way, within the scope of large housing estates. The quality of the elements prepared at pre-fabrication facilities, and particularly the quality of the executed installation works related to the ready-made, pre-fabricated elements at the construction sites, certainly could have been improved
