Photocopies.  1902-1947.  1982.59.1   ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY   The Macedonia Baptist Church was constituted on 3 September 1850 near Kuttawa, Lyon County, Kentucky.  Services were first held in a nearby schoolhouse, but in 1851 William Kelly transferred land for a church building.  In 1867 the church received land for a cemetery.  The first church building was a small log structure that was also used as a school.  See John C. Espie, Espie Articles on Lyon County (Louisville, Ky.: Horsehead Publishing, 2000).     COLLECTION NOTES  The collection consists of Record Books #2 and #4 of Macedonia Baptist Church.  Book #2 (Folder 2) contains membership lists and minutes of church business meetings from 7 June 1902 to 1 September 1923.  Book #4 (Folder #3) contains membership lists and minutes of church business meetings from 22 January 1938 to 22 November 1947.  Book #4 also contains a copy of the Church Covenant, Declaration of Faith and Rules of Order adopted 21 November 1942.
