In this study, the frequency of use, status, phonological changes and equivalences
between suffixes of the verbs formed with the gUr-/gUz- causative suffix in Ḳıṣaṣü’l Enbiyâ
written in Khwarezm Turkic was examined. The usage patterns, morphological and semantic
differences of these words in the historical periods of the Turkic language were determined, and
the grammaticalization process of the suffix was tried to be understood by examining the forms
in the other Turkic dialects. The reasons why gUr-/gUz-, which is not a live suffix today, fell
out of use, its Oghuz effect on it, and the effect of r/z equivalence, which is the most basic
phonetic criterion of Altaic Language Theory, on suffix were examined
