Hubungan Antara Faktor Ibu Dengan Kejadian Persalinan Prematur di RSUD Banyumas

Abstract

Prematurity is accounts for 47%o of neonate's deaths. There are 4 factots related to prematurity, these are: mother factor, pregnancy factor, foetal factor, and unknovm factor. Among these factors, mother's factors, such as age, parity, education and employment play an important role, as it gives information to take action to prevent prematurity. At Banyumas General Hospital, the prevalence of prematuriSr increased from 6,97Yo il+ 2003 to 7 ,3o/o in 2004. However, mother factors related to the prevalence of plematurity are still unknown. This research aimed to analyse the relationship between mother factors and the occurrence of prematurity among mothers delivering babies at Banyumas Hospital. This research is cross sectional study. Population of this research was mothers delivering babies at Banyumas Hospital. The sampling method used was total sampling. Data were collected by face to face interview using an open questionnaire. Chi-square test and contingency coefficient were used to analyse the data. There were significant relationship at moderate level between prematurifi and the following factors: mother's education (X2:42,515; p=0,000, C:0,323) and mother's job (X2= 24,750;p:0,000; C:0,252). No significant relationship was found between prematurity and the following factors: age O,Ol7;p=0,895) and parity(X2= 0,487;p:0,485, C=0,037). In conclusion, low education and hard work were the main mother's factors related to the occurence of prematurity
