As Ludwig Wittgenstein remarked in On Certainty, we could imagine
events so strange that there wouldn’t even be room for them
in our language-games. In this paper we shall analyze the consequences
of this type of events, paying attention above all to the
possibility of deciding to stand fast on our own certainties. We
