CC BY 4.0.Applying Creative Commons LicensesApplying an open license to your work➢ Remember: Only the copyright owner of a work can apply an open license to a work.➢ Creative Commons provides a license chooser to help copyright owners select a license.➢ CC licenses are irrevocable: The open license will dictate how others may use the work for as long as copyright applies, wherever copyright would apply to the intended use.11Applying a Creative Commons license to your workResource: “4.1 Choosing and Applying a CC License.” by Creative Commons. CC BY 4.0Creating Collections or AdaptationsUsing openly licensed workLicensing considerations for collections➢ Proper attribution must be given for all the individual works in the collection.➢ If any of the openly licensed works included in a collection include the NonCommercial element in their license, the new collection may not be used for money-making purposes.➢ In the case of a collection, further reuse of content from the original works is limited by the original licenses of those works. Only the new elements presented are copyrightable by the arranger of the collection: the order of the items, original supplementary content like an introduction, etc.14Resource: “4.4 Remixing CC-Licensed Work.” by Creative Commons.
