Thiswork presents a program aimed to change corporate culture toprevent obesity and chronic diseases in one of the largestpublic companies in France (155 000 employees), the FrenchNational Railways Company (SNCF). Program implementa-tion was based on the best practices for designing sustainablehealth promotion interventions.8th European Public Health Conference: Parallel Sessions 157Description of the problemSNCF stakeholders – occupational health professionals, socialaction service, communication service, company’s manage-ment – in collaboration with complementary health insur-ances, trade unions and SNCF sports associations developed aprogram built through five drivers for change of the corporateculture: (1) development of public health policy at workplace;(2) involvement of employees and multisectoral cooperation inthe construction of health policy; (3) development ofsupportive environments for healthy behaviours at workplace;(4) development of personal skills at workplace; (5) andinvolvement of occupational health services in health promo-tion and prevention.ResultsResults were obtained in five domains: (1) adoption of a publichealth initiative by the company for 2011–2014; (2) engage-ment of all company’s sectors and employees involvement in apublic health intervention; (3) screening for overweight andobesity-related comorbidities at workplace and a multidisci-plinary intervention for overweight volunteers; (4) increase inhealthy menu options at worksite canteens; (5) and imple-mentation of health promotion activities at workplace.LessonsClose collaboration between stakeholders and company’smanagement support are important factors to changecorporate culture in order to target the multiple interrelatedfactors contributing to sustainable healthy behaviors to preventobesity and chronic diseases at workplace through differentlevels of intervention.Key messages Obesity prevention at workplace needs to change corporateculture Tackling different drivers for change at workplace in orderto achieve sustainable health promotion interventions158 European Journal of Public Health, Vol. 25, Supplement 3, 2015
