This study aims to describe the role of gobag sodor game in improving students civis skills at SD Negeri 3 Karang Anyar Jati Agung South Lampung. The design used was qualitative descriptive in which purposive sampling and snow ball sampling were used in order to gain the sample of the research, additionally the researcher itself was the key instrument. It was found that the gobag sodor game played an important and good role in improving students civis skills which were intelectual skill, social skill,and participating skill. The Gobag Sodor itself helped students in developing students creativity and the students got the value and experience directly from the game. Besides improving stduents civis skills which was able to support studentsachievements, playing Gobag Sodor game was able to prepetuate the Indonesian traditional games.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan peranan permainan gobag sodor untuk meningkatkan civic skills siswa di SD Negeri 3 Karang Anyar Jati Agung Lampung Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode dekriptif kualitatif. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dan snowball sampling dengan peneliti sebagai instrumen kunci. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: permainan gobag sodor berperan baik dalam meningkatkan civic skills siswa yaitu peningkatan keterampilan intelektual, keterampilan sosial dan keterampilan partisipatif siswa. Permainan gobag sodor membantu siswa untuk mengembangkan keterampilan dan siswa mendapatkan nilai-nilai yang ada dalam permainan gobag sodor melalui pengalaman langsung. Selain meningkatkan civic skills siswa yang dapat menunjang prestasi belajar dan kehidupan sosial siswa juga dapat membantu melestarikan permainan tradisional yang ada di Indonesia
