This paper examines the relation between humanity and nature. It does so by looking through the lens of capitalism and science respectively. Through our analysis we define capitalisms notion of nature as a narrow-minded dogmatic view, reducing it to a means of manipulation and profit. This ultimatively forces humanity into an imperativ to increase, introducing a temporal dimension to the analysis suggesting a closed future. In order to re-open the future an alternative to the capitalist status-quo is required. Science attempts to engage honestly with this problem, but falls short in its formulation of problems, leading to the suggestion of a positive construction of the problematic assisted by the notion of resonance to re-open the future
