High-resolution numerical modelling ofaltimetry-derived gravity dataRóbert Čunderĺık; Marek Macák; Michal Kollár; ZuzanaMinarechová; Karol MikulaHigh-resolution altimetry-derived gravity data over oceans/seasare determined by a numerical solution of the altimetry-gravimetry boundary-value problem (AGBVP) using the fi-nite volume method (FVM). FVM discretizes the 3D com-putational domain between an ellipsoidal approximation ofthe Earth’s surface and an upper boundary chosen at al-titude of 200 km. Here the FVM solution is fixed tothe GRACE/GOCE-based satellite-only geopotential model,namely to GO CONS GCF 2 DIR R6. Over oceas/seas on thebottom boundary, the disturbing potential is prescribed as well.Its quality has a crucial impact on accuracy of the modelledmarine altimetry-derived gravity data. It is obtained by non-linear diffusion filtering of the geopotential generated fromGO CONS GCF 2 DIR R6 on the DTU21 mean sea surface(DTU21 MSS). A parallel implementation of FVM and large-scale parallel computations on the cluster with distributedmemory result in high-resolution numerical solution of AGBVP.Hence, the disturbing potential is obtained in the whole 3Dcomputational domain with the high-resolution 1 × 1 arc minin horizontal directions. It allows us to derive the first, sec-ond or higher derivatives with the same resolution, even atdifferent altitudes. We present such detailed marine altimetry-19derived gravity data evaluated on DTU MSS and at altitudeof 10 km. Finally, the altimetry-derived gravity disturbancesobtained on DTU MSS are compared with ones generated fromthe DTU21 GRAV and SS v31.1 datasets.Author Róbert Čunderĺık was supported by the project VEGA1/0486/2020
