Abstract

Curator Grant Marchand looks at how Norman’s multidisciplinary work (which includes photography, video, installation, a Web site and performance) calls into question the roles and functions traditionally attributed to women. She outlines the impact of the artist’s “offer of availability” on viewers, who are led to reconsider their relationship with the other and to face their own conditioning. In an interview with C.
