: The Implementation of Supreme Court Regulation (PERMA) No. 1/2008 on Mediation in Jambi Religious Court and Its Implications to the Increase of Divorce Cases at the Agency. This study discusses the low rate of the implementation of Supreme Court Regulation (PERMA) No. 1 of 2008 on Mediation in Jambi Religious Court, including its implications to the increase of divorce cases at the institution. The study concludes that the application of mediation in Jambi Religious Courts is not effective in addressing the high rate of divorce cases. Such a phenomenon is caused by several factors namely: First, The PERMA provisions is still relatively weak. Second, the application of rules in the Jambi Religious Court deviates from the PERMA Third, Mediation facilities are inadequate. Fourth, Mediators are not so serious in reconciling the parties. Fifth, the parties coming before the Court generally ask for judge's decision and not to be reconciled
