Aktivitas Antibakteri Ekstrak Etanol Kayu Nangka (Artocarpus Heterophylla Lmk.) Terhadap Bacillus Subtilis Dan Escherichia Coli

Abstract

Research on antibacterial activity of jackfruit wood (A. heterophylla Lmk.) ethanolic extract to B. subtilis and E. coli in vitro have been done. Jackfruit wood extraction was done with maceration method using ethanolic solvent 70%. Antibacterial activity test used agar diffution method. There were tested 5 groups of serial extract concentration 1%, 10% and 100%; positive control (tetracycline HCl) and solvent control/ negative control Dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO 10%). The result showed that ethanolic extract of jackfruit wood didn't have antibacterial activity until the highest concentration. Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) test showed that ethanolic extract of jackfruit wood contain flavonoid and alkaloid.
