Penerapan Levels of Inquiry Untuk Meningkatkan Literasi Sains Siswa SMP Tema Limbah Dan Upaya Penanggulangannya

Abstract

Scientific literacy is important to be mastered by the students, because scientific literacy is the ways of science used sudents to face the problem in their life. Levels of inquiry is the hierarkies of learning from discovery learning, interactive demonstration, inquiry lesson, inquiry laboratory, real-world application, dan hyphotetical inquiry. The purpose of this study is to analyze the increasing of scientific literacy of high school students after the implementation levels of inquiry theme the waste and the way to ward off. The study was conducted three times a meeting on 32 students of class VII at SMP Negeri 8 Cimahi. This study used a pre experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. The result showed that scientific literacy was increase after the implementation of levels of inquiry. The increasing of scientific literacy was 12,2%. The paired t test show that there is the difference significantly between mean pretest and mean postest. Beside the paired t test, the magnitude of effect size is 0,9 that show large category. This result indicates that levels of inquiry has large contribution to increase the scientific literacy
