Abstract

Svetosavlje or Saint-Savaness is a term coined in the early 1930s by the students of the Faculty of Theology, University of Belgrade, named after the Serbian medieval nobleman and the first archbishop of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Saint Sava Nemanjić (1175-1236). Svetosavlje is usually understood as Serbian-style Orthodox Christianity. So far, a number of modern Serbian authors have emphasized the universal Christian character of Svetosavlje
