Abstract

Eleven artists of diverse cultural backgrounds explore their relationship with language in visually and textually symbolic installations within a monastery turned artists' residency. They comment on their permanent, bedroom installations and describe their working methods in interviews with curator S. Butler. Local writers relate the experiences each had spending a night in one of the installations. Butler, in her text and interviews, comments on alternative curatorial practices and collaborative endeavours. Biographical notes
