Abstract
We have prepared bulk oriented samples of the YBa2Cu3Ox superconductor by repeating the steps of the solid state reaction method. The texture on the surface and in the bulk of the samples is detected by using x-ray diffraction and polarized Raman spectroscopy. Studies of the critical current densities show that Jc increases with the degree of alignment up to a factor of three. © 1990
