This article expect to elucidate the formation and the development of the movement known as Tropicalismo and it’s relation with the counterculture, focusing the participation of the musical group Mutantes. It seeks to find the elements, cultural and musical, that composed the intense hibridation realized by it’s members and the pratices adopted by them in the concretization of the phonograms and the ideas of the counterculture that were in formation at that time, from which they are formers.Este artigo pretende elucidar alguns aspectos do movimento conhecido como Tropicalismo e sua relação com a contracultura, tomando por enfoque a participação do grupo musical Mutantes. Busca-se encontrar os elementos culturais e musicais que compuseram a intensa hibridação realizada por seus integrantes e as práticas adotadas por eles tanto na gravação dos fonogramas como na concretização das idéias da contracultura que se formava na época, da qual eram formadores e representantes
