Abstract

The presence of deaf children in the family is often not expected by the parent. Parents made up of father and mother each have a role to nurture and educate children. Parents will expect to haveperfect children and be proud. This causes a gap between reality and expectations of parents. \ud Accept or reject the attitude of parents towards their children can affect children in achieving optimal development. Reception parents characterized by great attention and affection in children. Parents who receive child's ability to pay attention to the development and take into account children's interests. While children are not accepted by the parents will have problems of \ud social development, one of which is self adjusting. The difficulty of the adjustment of children as a result of the refusal of parents to direct individuals tend to have uncomfortable feeling of the presence of others who are often called social anxiety. Formulation of the problem studied in this research is whether there are differences in levels of social anxiety in terms of the role of parents \ud in receipt of children with hearing impairment. \ud This type of research used in this research is orrelational research. Correlational research is research to discover the extent to which variation in one variable associated with variations in one or more other variables, based on the coefficient of korelasi.Subyek study were aged 12­21 \ud years with hearing children in special schools in Malang YPTB Deaf Speech samples of 39 persons. The subjects of this study were taken by using the technique of total sampling (study population) that sample where the same sample population. Measuring instruments used in the \ud form of scales and questionnaires. \ud Test the validity of the scale of the study were tested using product moment correlation procedure of Karl Pearson is by correlating each item the item with the total score. While the data were analyzed with a variant of path analysis techniques. Based on data analysis can be found that there are differences in social anxiety are highly significant (F = 13.534, sig = 0.000 <0.01) in terms of the role of parents in receipt of children with hearing, where the reception at the same father and mother will have an impact on the low social anxiety ( X = 54.04) than if the \ud revenue was derived from the father alone (X = 64.4) or mother alone (X = 64, 8)
