With the use and sharing of information on the Web, media production grows faster than written textual production. In this scenario, it is the objective of this study to verify the extension of research conducted on Metadata Standards for videos on YouTube, assuming that, on the national level, these discussions would need to be intensified. In order to reach the proposed objective, a review of the national literature was developed along with the Brapci Database, and a review of the international literature both in the Knowledge Organization magazine and in the international bases ISTA and LISTA. Finally, from the analysis of the summaries of the retrieved research, the low production on the subject in Brazil is verified and a proposal is made for the use of metadata standards for videos on YouTube based on the work of Jenn Riley
